Long Lost Clown

Hello again, it’s me

Haven’t spoken for a while, so it seems

Watcha’ doing with your time these days

Can we talk a little while, there’s lots to say

Did you miss me at all

Are you thinking it’s so fine to get my call

Have the nights been longer since I’m gone

Did you struggle when I left to carry on

Or was I out of sight and out of mind to you

Did I even cross your mind once we were through

Have you missed the thought of having me around

Or am I just another long lost clown

I’ve taken you for granted, I can see

I thought you’d still be thinking of me

It troubles me to find that I’ve been wrong

I didn’t think I’d stay away this long

Do you think that we could take another shot

I wish that things were different but they’re not

Can someone else have taken my place

You’d know my pain if you could see my face

Was I out of sight and out of mind to you

Did I even cross your mind once we were through

Have you missed the thought of having me around

Or am I just another long lost clown

I guess I made my bed way back when

I know I wasn’t thinking with my head

And yes I know I didn’t even call

Perhaps I wasn’t thinking at all

Was I out of sight and out of mind to you

Did I even cross your mind once we were through

Have you missed the thought of having me around

Or am I just another long lost clown

Was I out of sight and out of mind to you

Did I even cross your mind once we were through

Have you missed the thought of having me around

Or am I just another long lost clown

Sip My Wine

I’m gonna sip my wine

I’m gonna savor every drop until the bottle is dry

I’m gonna take my time

‘Cause I’ve got nothing to stop me from running behind - Oh no - Oh no - Oh no

You can stay or leave

It’s really up to you, it doesn’t matter to me

 But it’s here I’ll be

Taking it slow and going easily

I find it so appealing

With no commitments in my way

And there’s nothing that I’m feeling

Gonna cloud a sunny day – Yay,yay, yay - Ooh-ooh  Hey-hey  Gonna sip my wine today

Ooh-ooh - Hey-hey

I can go my way

I can make every day a holiday

And if I may

I’m gonna have another glass of cabernet – Hey hey - Hey hey - Hey hey

Sitting in the restaurant among my friends and confidants

Sharing all the simple thoughts and reminiscing back across the years

Laughing over funny bits, about the things I’m gonna miss

And I know its times like this that I’ll remember holding back the tears

Whoa whoa - Whoa whoa

I’m gonna sip my wine

I’m gonna savor every drop until the bottle is dry

I’m gonna take my time

‘Cause I’ve got nothing to stop me from running behind

I find it so appealing

With no commitments in my way

And there’s nothing that I’m feeling

Gonna cloud a sunny day – Yay-yay-yay - Ooh-ooh - Hey-hey Gonna sip my wine today

Ooh ooh - Hey hey  - Gonna sip my wine today

Ooh ooh - Hey hey - Gonna sip my wine        I’m gonna sip my wine            Today

No One's Home

Breaking down the barriers to reach inside the void

Using every trick I have the patience to employ

Staring into emptiness, I look for something right

But shadows from the darkness cast unfamiliar light

Crashing into silence, I strain to hear a sound

Nothing is the same, confusion all around

Searching for a sign, I may be getting through

But every step I take brings me less of what I knew

I’m knocking – But no one’s home – I’m feeling – So alone

I’m looking – It’s hard to find – Anything that might be left behind

I’m knocking – But no one’s home – I’m missing – The world I’ve known

I’m wishing – But I’m resigned – To never turning back the hands of time

Asking no more questions, telling no more lies

Hiding my emotions so no one sees me cry

Things that are and things that were, they don’t look the same

Everything is different now and only here in name

All that I can see is an unfamiliar soul

I wish I had a hint of something new or something old

Maybe no one’s there to answer the door

Should I even feel the need to be knocking any more

But I’m knocking – And no one’s home – I’m feeling – So alone

I’m looking – It’s hard to find – Anything that might be left behind

I’m knocking – But no one’s home – I’m missing – The world I’ve known

I’m wishing – But I’m resigned – To never turning back the hands of time

Let Me Change Your Mind

I know you had a trying day – I can see it in your eyes

Something’s there you’d just as soon forget

You strain to smile, your face betrays the anguish that you hide

A weight upon your shoulders that won’t rest

And I know – How you feel – Yes I know – The pain is real

Let me change your mind and occupy your time

Let me in – Let me take you by the hand

Let me know what you think – I can see you’re on the edge

But I’m here – And I will understand

Ever since I’ve known you, you wear it on your sleeve

There’s nothing you can do to hide the truth

You bear your soul in silence and your look cannot deceive

You build a wall that I can see right through

So I know – How you feel – I can sense – What you conceal

Let me change your mind and occupy your time

Let me in – Let me take you by the hand

Let me know what you think – I can see you’re on the edge

But I’m here – And I will understand

Nothing you imagine is as bad as it seems

Everything looks bigger in the night

So rest your weary head and dare to dream

Of places you can go to in the light

And I know – How you feel – I can see – What you don’t reveal

Let me change your mind and occupy your time

Let me in – Let me take you by the hand

Let me know what you think – I can see you’re on the edge

But I’m here – And I will understand

Let me feel what you feel – You don’t need to shut me out

‘Cause I know I can change your state of mind

Let me hear what you say – Let me talk you off the ledge

Let me close and let me change your mind

All My Heart

I open up my eyes in the early morning light

And there you are beside me, still asleep from the night

I watch you as you breathe – Count my blessings quietly

Your expression so serene – It’s captivating me

And I thank the stars with all my heart that you are by my side

That you sacrificed and traveled far, so we wouldn’t be denied

I thank the stars with all my heart for the life you’ve given me

And it’s been like this right from the start like I knew that it would be

And so we fill the pages of our unfinished book

A story for the ages – The journey that we took

Mystified by fate that closed the distance to our heart

Miles that separate couldn’t keep us far apart

And I thank the stars with all my heart that you are by my side

That you sacrificed and traveled far, so we wouldn’t be denied

I thank the stars with all my heart for the life you’ve given me

And it’s been like this right from the start like I knew that it would be

All I ever dreamed of was to find someone like you

The things we had to do to make it all come true

And now we are as one, savoring the past

The riches we’ve amassed – But it’s all gone by too fast

You open up your eyes as I look upon your face

We’re lying side by side in this our perfect place

It’s just another morning in a fantasy revealed

Your smile so adoring, and it says our love is real

And I thank the stars with all my heart that you are by my side

That you sacrificed and traveled far, so we wouldn’t be denied

I thank the stars with all my heart for the life you’ve given me

And it’s been like this right from the start like I knew that it would be

Destiny Calls

Since you’ve been here, I’ve counted my blessings

And when you are near I can be who I am

I think of you gone, I know I’m obsessing

‘Cause saying goodbye was not what we’d planned

But Destiny calls – It’s waving its hand – With a flickering light – And a line in the sand

There’s a place in the sun – It won’t be the same – Destiny calls – It’s calling your name

When you were younger, you stood out apart as you

Blazed all your trails and you made your own way

And now that you’re grown you must follow your heart and I’ve

Got to accept that it’s not yesterday

Destiny calls – It’s waving its hand – With a flickering light – And a line in the sand

There’s a place in the sun – It won’t be the same – Destiny calls – It’s calling your name

All my emotions are raging inside – Conflicted but wanting to see

Tangible notions that I have denied – Now they’re the way it will be

Destiny calls – It’s waving its hand – With a flickering light – And a line in the sand

There’s a place in the sun – It won’t be the same – Destiny calls – It’s calling your name

So in the end it will be what is best and I

Will not be selfish, I will not dissent

This is our fate and it’s love’s greatest test but I

Know the reward will be worth all we spent

Destiny calls – It’s waving its hand – With a flickering light – And a line in the sand

There’s a place in the sun – It won’t be the same – Destiny calls – It’s calling your name

Destiny calls – It’s waving its hand – With a flickering light – And a line in the sand

There’s a place in the sun – It won’t be the same – Destiny calls – It’s calling your name

Destiny Calls – It’s calling your name

I Play For Me

If I had a dollar for every song I played

I’d buy myself an island with the money that I made

If I were a superstar and all my work was known

The road from rags to riches would be my very own

But this is just a fantasy – Just a worn out dream

It isn’t who I wanna be – It isn’t what I need

I play for me – I play for you – I’ll play for anyone who’ll listen – I play ‘cause I want to

I play for me – I play my songs – If you think I play for fame and fortune

You couldn’t be more wrong

If I played arenas and traveled through the land

And people paid to see me on the stage and with my band

If I had to sign my name a million times or more

I wouldn’t turn to leave until the last one’s out the door

But this is just a fantasy – Just a worn out dream

It isn’t who I wanna be – It isn’t what I need

I play for me – I play for you – I’ll play for anyone who’ll listen – I play ‘cause I want to

I play for me – I play my songs – If you think I play for fame and fortune

You couldn’t be more wrong

If I hit the big time – If I were a star

I’d stick to just the music, ‘cause that’s how I got this far

And if they wanted more of me, they wouldn’t get their way

‘Cause I don’t think it matters what stardom has to say

I play for me – I play for you – I’ll play for anyone who’ll listen – I play ‘cause I want to

I play for me – I play my songs – If you think I play for fame and fortune

You couldn’t be more wrong

I play for me – I play for you – I’ll play for anyone who’ll listen       ‘Cause that’s – Just what I do

Who Will Wear Your Shoes

You set the pace – You are the face – Of those who cannot speak

And once again you represent the voices of the meek

The lines are drawn – We’re marching on – No sense of what’s to come

Tomorrow’s game won’t look the same as where we’re coming from

Who will wear your shoes when the sun goes down

Who will walk those footsteps in the night

Who will wear your shoes when there’s darkness all around

Who will lead us back into the light

Heed the signs of wintertime – The coldness in the air

The wind it brings upon its wings – An omen of despair

All is quiet now on the inside

The fire burning brightly keeps us warm

But clouds are rolling in on the outside

Who will find us shelter from the storm

What’s the plan – To make our stand – To live another day

Who will cede and who will lead – And who will light the way

Who will wear your shoes when the sun goes down

Who will walk those footsteps in then night

Who will wear your shoes when there’s darkness all around

Who will lead us back into the light

Who will wear your shoes when the sun goes down

Who will walk those footsteps in the night

Who will wear your shoes when there’s darkness all around

Who will lead us back into the light

Ode to The Artist

Gazing with a purpose – What is it you see – A potpourri of color and design

Let yourself go wandering – Into the scene – Take a trip and see what you will find

Watch the image move – And come alive – Free up all your senses to believe

Whatever the illusion – You decide – What you feel is what you will perceive

Live in the moment – Time stands still – Take a leap of faith with your eyes

Search down deep within – For some kind of sign – Open up for someone to reply

Try to imagine – A world black and white – A tapestry of dark and dreary shades

The skill and inspiration – Will color and light – Working all the tools of the trade

So let the patterns run – Into your soul – Lock the door behind the frame

The spirit from within – Beacons to you now – Calling out your name

Can you hear the words – Do you know what they mean

Can you feel the passion shining through

Can you see the brush – And the strokes as they glide

The messenger is calling out to you

The treasures of the angels – Satisfy – The most discerning human mind

Immortalized by time’s – Eternity – The artist will always survive

So let the patterns run – Into your soul – Lock the door behind the frame

The spirit from within – Beacons to you now – Calling out your name

Can you hear the words – Do you know what they mean

Can you feel the passion shining through

Can you see the brush – And the strokes as they glide

The messenger is calling out to you

Gazing with a purpose – What is it you see – A potpourri of color and design

Legacy

So it’s time to think about the setting of the sun

I’ve played my heart out every day – The game is nearly won

Counting down the hours ‘til another season’s done

Looking back at all the years, and it’s been quite a run

I’ve paid my dues and done my best – I hold my head up high

I left it all out on the field – I hope I satisfied

And those I leave behind me now are ready for this day

They’ll carry on and rise above whatever comes their way

What’s to be my legacy, and how will they remember me

What will be the story when I’m gone

Thinking ‘bout my legacy – Should I have done things differently

And how will they define me later on

I’ll fill out all the papers now and sign the dotted line

Make it all official so I know my time is mine

I’ll pack my things and say goodbye and then with one last look

I’ll take my leave with a final bow and then I’ll close the book

What’s to be my legacy, and how will they remember me

What will be the story when I’m gone

Thinking ‘bout my legacy – Should I have done things differently

And how will they define me later on

This is what I’ve worked for – Seems a thousand years

No early mornings, late nights anymore

Friends I’ve made – I’ll keep the ones that I hold dear

Even after walking out the door

What’s to be my legacy, and how will they remember me

What will be the story when I’m gone

Thinking ‘bout my legacy – Should I have done things differently

And how will they define me later on

Let's Tell The World

Living in the shadows – Always trying to pretend

Telling lies to the ones around us – That we call our friends

Sworn to silence – At the risk of losing everything

It’s a dance that we’re doing in the dark – Dreading what the light will bring

Let’s tell the world – Let’s scream it from the mountaintop

What’s the worst that can happen if we pull back the curtain and smile

Let’s tell the world – We’ve got to share the news

And let the chips fall all around us so we can play the cards we drew

From now on – We won’t have to run and hide

We can face the music together – And put our fears aside

What they think – It doesn’t matter anymore

The love we share will guide us – Through the rising storm

Let’s tell the world – Let’s scream it from the mountaintop

What’s the worst that can happen if we pull back the curtain and smile

Let’s tell the world – We’ve got to share the news

And let the chips fall all around us so we can play the cards we drew

Breaking all the rules – And taking them for fools

Falling ever deeper underground

Nothing good can come of this – Only broken promises

Treading dirty waters ‘till we drown

We’re not free – We’re prisoners to consequence

But the fire that burns inside us is all that’s making any sense

There may be anger – There may be jealousy

But when we’re out in the open they will finally see what we can see

Let’s tell the world – Let’s scream it from the mountaintop

What’s the worst that can happen if we pull back the curtain and smile

Let’s tell the world – We’ve got to share the news

And let the chips fall all around us so we can play the cards we drew

Let’s tell the world

Let’s tell the world

Let’s tell the world

Let’s tell the world

Jekyll and Hyde

In the morning gonna rise up early – Gonna meet the day – And put the night away

I wash my body and I shave my face – Gotta clean up good – Looking like I should

I’m off to work – To carry the load – To make things go

It’s what know – And I make decisions – Avoid collisions

Work my vision – While I’m running the show

Another day gonna make my living – Gonna ply my trade – Gotta earn my pay

Making lemons into lemonade – Squeezing every drop – Out of every crop

It’s what I do – I carry the load – To make things go

It’s what know – And I make decisions – Avoid collisions

Work my vision – While I’m running the show

But I’ve got myself an alter ego – A place where I run and hide

I write my songs and I make my music – In another space and time

Yes I’ve got myself an alter ego – I live two separate lives

Clean cut left brain, long-haired right brain – I’m a Jekyll and Hyde

People see me in the same old way – And they don’t believe – The other side of me

They can’t behold the invisible man – My secret’s out – And it’s a shock, no doubt

It’s what I do – I carry the load – To make things go

It’s what know – And I make decisions – Avoid collisions

Work my vision – While I’m running the show

I’ve got myself an alter ego – A place where I run and hide

I write my songs and I make my music – In another space and time

Yes I’ve got myself an alter ego – I live two separate lives

Clean cut left brain, long-haired right brain – I’m a Jekyll and Hyde

I’ve got myself an alter ego – A place where I run and hide

I write my songs and I make my music – In another space and time

Yes I’ve got myself an alter ego – I live two separate lives

Clean cut left brain, long-haired right brain – I’m a Jekyll and Hyde

Walking On Water

Stevie’s superstition said the devil’s on his way

Carole asked why everyone’s so far away

Neil took us searching for a heart of gold

And Paul singing Let It Be never gets old

Every day’s an overdose of doom and gloom

So stop and smell the roses while they’re still in bloom

Get inside the poetry to be released

Take a trip on music and find some peace

Pressure - Danger - Pushing all the limits and raising hell

Whatcha gonna do when the clock strikes twelve

Where’re you gonna be – Who’re you gonna phone

Busted in the street and all alone

Haunted - Taunted - Making for the exits - Breaking down doors

Stepping on glass all over the floor

Temperature’s rising, can you feel the heat

We gotta get out – We gotta get free

Walking on water - Walking on air

Walking on the sunny side of the street – If it rains, well I don’t care

Walking on water – Light on my feet

I’m getting high on life – Into the music and out of the heat

Headlines - Deadlines - Gotta be first in singing the blues

People so obsessed with the real time news

Politics and lunatics – I wanna cry

Nothing makes sense – So don’t ask why

Slowing up and coming down – Drowning out the sights and sounds

Flying high and lying low – From Mozart to the Stones, I can just let go

Walking on water - Walking on air

Walking on the sunny side of the street – If it rains, well I don’t care

Walking on water – Light on my feet

I’m getting high on life – Into the music and out of the heat

Simon says to listen to the silent sounds

Brian talks of summer and getting around

Dylan spoke of changing times, and set us free

And Lennon just imagined how it all could be

This is how we make it in a world gone mad

Music is the medicine when things get bad

Lose yourself in song and escape the scene

Go walking on water with a sound machine

Walking on water - Walking on air

Walking on the sunny side of the street – If it rains, well I don’t care

Walking on water – Light on my feet

I’m getting high on life – Into the music and out of the heat

Walking on water – Walking on water – Walking on water

Whoa – Whoa – Whoa           Whoa – Whoa – Whoa

Messages

There are messages – That you send to me – When I’m all alone – With my memories

I see images – In a picture book – They’re all I have – They’re all we took

But I can hear your voice and see your eyes and feel your presence, when you grace my mind

You can reach me in my dreams and when you know I need you just by sending signs

There are passages – From words you wrote – I read the lines – And I know you know

Advantages – That you gave to me – They set the stage – And they stayed with me

I can hear your voice and see your eyes and feel your presence, when you grace my mind

You can reach me in my dreams and when you know I need you just by sending signs

When I get a signal that you’re reaching out - A tap upon my shoulder in the night

A ringing in my ear that makes me think about – A voice that’s telling me to do what’s right

Your messages – Are getting through – Whenever I’m – In need of you

And they carry me – through stormy seas – They comfort me – And put my mind at ease

I can hear your voice and see your eyes and feel your presence, when you grace my mind

You can reach me in my dreams and when you know I need you just by sending signs

I can hear your voice and see your eyes and feel your presence, when you grace my mind

You can reach me in my dreams and when you know I need you, just send a sign

With your messages
